Setting up Acobot and Facebook Messenger for live chat involves three easy steps.

  1. Enable Messenger.
  2. Get short URL.
  3. Integrate with Acobot.

1. Enable Messenger

To allow your customers to chat with you through Facebook Messenger, you need to activate the Messenger function on your Facebook business page. You can easily set this up in the “manage page settings” tab.

  1. Log in to your Facebook business account.
  2. Click “settings” at the top of your Page.
  3. From “general,” click “messages.”
  4. Click to check the box next to “allow people to contact my Page privately by showing the Message button.”
  5. Click “save" changes.

When you have done the above steps, the "message us" function is added to your main Facebook business Page and allows Messenger to respond to user comments that are made on your page’s posts.

If you do not have a Facebook page for your business, you can create one for free.

2. Get m.me URL

The short URL for your Messenger is in the format of https://m.me/USERNAME. Just replace USERNAME with your page's username. 

Note "https://" must be included with the URL or it doesn't work.

3. Integrate with Acobot

You just need to provide the above URL to Acobot.

  1. Log in to your Acobot account.
  2. Choose a store if you have multiple stores.
  3. From the left side bar, choose “live chat.”
  4. Click the pencil icon to enter the URL.
  5. Save.

Well done! Your customers can now chat with you using Messenger and you can boost conversion and increase sales using live chat.
